The Starlight Cable Car
Lily pressed her nose against her bedroom window, watching the silver moon. On this magical night, something extraordinary happened. A shimmering cable appeared, stretching from her window all the way to the mysterious glowing pool she could see on the distant mountain top. The cable sparkled with tiny stars, like a necklace of diamonds against the dark sky.
With a burst of courage, Lily opened her window and climbed into the tiny basket that waited at the end of the starlight cable. Up, up, up she sailed! The basket swayed gently as it carried her through the cool night air, past sleeping trees and whispering clouds.
When she reached the mountaintop, Lily gasped in wonder. The pool wasn't filled with ordinary water—it shimmered with rainbow colors and glowed from within! Floating in the center was a small, lonely dragon with scales that matched every color of the pool.
"Hello," said Lily softly. "I'm Lily."
The dragon's eyes lit up like tiny lanterns. "I'm Spark! I've been waiting for a friend to share my magical pool with."
Lily dipped her hand into the water, and it tingled with warmth. "This is amazing!"
"Watch this," Spark said, and he dipped his tail into the pool. Suddenly, the water began to bubble and dance, creating pictures of faraway lands, talking animals, and children having adventures.
They spent the night playing, sharing stories, and making wishes in the magical pool. As dawn approached, Lily knew she had to return home. But before she left, Spark pressed something into her hand—a tiny, glowing scale.
"Whenever you miss me, hold this scale, and we'll be connected forever," Spark promised. "True friendship has no distance."
Lily climbed back into the basket and floated down the starlight cable, her heart full of joy. As she snuggled into bed, she realized the best magic of all wasn't the glowing cable or the enchanted pool. It was finding a friend in the most unexpected place.
