The Starlight Cable

Luna was running through her backyard at dusk, chasing fireflies that danced like tiny stars. Her bare feet pattered softly on the grass as she raced toward the old oak tree, but suddenly she stopped. Something strange shimmered in the twilight—a thick silver cable that seemed to stretch all the way from her garden up into the sky, disappearing among the first evening stars.

The cable hummed with a gentle, musical sound, like wind chimes. Luna's heart raced with excitement as she inched closer. Was it a trick of the twilight, or was this something magical? She remembered her grandmother's stories about how the night sky was connected to the earth by invisible threads of starlight and wonder.

Carefully, Luna reached out and touched the cable. It felt warm, like sunlight trapped inside a silver thread. The moment her fingers brushed against it, the cable began to glow brighter, and suddenly Luna felt herself being lifted gently off the ground!

The cable carried her upward, higher and higher, past the rooftops and the treetops, until she found herself among the stars. There, standing on a fluffy cloud, was the most magnificent creature Luna had ever seen—a great, gentle bull with a coat that shimmered like the Milky Way and horns that glowed like crescent moons.

"Welcome, little one," said the Star Bull, his voice deep and rumbly like distant thunder. "I am Taurus, guardian of the night sky. Every child who discovers the starlight cable and follows it with a brave heart earns one wish."

Luna thought carefully. She could wish for toys or adventures, but instead she said, "I wish that every lonely child could find their own starlight cable and discover magic too."

Taurus smiled, and his starry coat twinkled with approval. "That is the wisest wish I've heard in centuries," he said. "Kindness shared is magic multiplied."

The bull touched Luna's forehead with his glowing nose, and suddenly she understood that the real magic wasn't just in stars and wishes—it was in the courage to dream wonderful dreams for others too.

As the cable carried her gently back to her backyard, Luna noticed something new. In neighbors' yards all along her street, silver threads now shimmered in the moonlight. The starlight cable had multiplied, and magic would now find many more hearts brave enough to believe.
