The Starlight Bull's Secret
Lily was the best spy in her whole school. She could spot a ladybug on a leaf from ten swings away and hear secrets whispered by the wind. But she had never seen anything like what happened that starry summer night.
She was lying on the grass, watching the stars twinkle like tiny night-lights, when she noticed something strange. The constellation Taurus — the bull — seemed to wink at her! Its stars glowed brighter and brighter until they floated down from the sky like golden fireflies.
"Hello, little spy," the star-bull rumbled softly. His fur was made of stardust, and his horns shimmered like moonbeams. "I've been watching you watch the stars."
Lily sat up, eyes wide. "You're real! But... why are you here?"
The bull lowered his magnificent head. "I need your help. Someone has stolen the wonder from children's dreams, and hidden it inside the Great Pyramid of Imagination. It sits on a cloud between earth and sky, but only someone with a curious heart can enter."
Lily's heart fluttered like a trapped butterfly. "Me? But I'm just a regular kid."
"Regular kids do extraordinary things every day," the bull said kindly. "You spy magic in ordinary places. That's your gift."
He let Lily climb onto his back, and together they soared through the night sky, leaving trails of sparkles behind them. The pyramid was more beautiful than anything Lily had ever seen — made not of stone, but of crystallized rainbow light.
Inside, dreams floated like bubbles, but they were all gray and dull. In the center sat a tiny creature, hunched and sad. It was a Dream Collector, who had taken all the wonder because nobody had appreciated his work.
Lily did something the Dream Collector didn't expect. She didn't get angry. Instead, she sat beside him and said, "Your work must be lonely. Thank you for caring so much about dreams."
The creature looked up, surprised. Nobody had ever thanked him before. Slowly, he began to smile. The gray dreams burst into color — pink elephants dancing, dragons learning to knit, children flying with butterfly wings.
"Wonder works best when shared," the bull whispered.
Lily rode home on starlight, tucked into bed with dreams more colorful than ever. And sometimes, when she spies at the stars, Taurus winks back, reminding her that kindness unlocks more magic than any key.
The best spies, she learned, aren't looking for secrets. They're looking for wonder in unexpected places — especially in hearts that need it most.
