The Starlight Bull's Secret

Lily had the wildest, curliest hair in all of Willowbrook Village. It bounced when she walked and sparkled when she laughed, exactly like a cloud of golden sunshine. Every morning, she took a special vitamin her grandmother had given her—a tiny orange tablet that tasted like strawberries and made her feel warm inside, exactly as if she had swallowed a tiny piece of sunshine.

One evening, while running through the meadow behind her house, Lily spotted something enormous hiding behind the old oak tree. It was a bull, but not like any bull she had ever seen in books. His fur shimmered like silver moonlight, and his horns glowed with stardust.

"Are you a spy?" the bull asked in a deep, rumbly voice that made the flowers tremble. "Are you here to discover my secret?"

Lily nodded bravely. "I'm Lily, and I'm the best spy in Willowbrook! I help lost animals find their way home."

The bull lowered his magnificent head. "I am Orion, the Starlight Bull. I fell from the sky when my constellation became loose. Now I cannot return unless someone believes in magic enough to help me."

Lily's hair began to glow golden, exactly as if the stars themselves were dancing in her curls. The special vitamin was working—its magic made her heart pure and full of believing!

"Climb onto my back," Orion said. "Together we shall race the wind back to the stars!"

Lily scrambled onto the bull's silver back, and suddenly they were running—faster than any horse, faster than the birds, faster even than her own dreams! The village lights twinkled below like diamonds on black velvet. Higher and higher they soared, until the moon itself seemed close enough to touch.

Orion found his place in the sky, his constellation glowing bright once more. "Thank you, Lily," he called as he settled among the stars. "Your magic hair and believing heart made me whole again."

Every night now, when Lily looks up at the constellation of the bull, his horn twinkles back, exactly as if winking at his best friend—the girl whose hair holds stardust and whose heart remembers that magic is real for those who believe.
