The Starlight Bull's Magic Pool

Lily lived in a house with a backyard that held two wonderful things: a shimmering blue swimming pool, and her grandmother's old padel racket hanging on the garden wall. Every evening, Lily would swing the racket, imagining she was hitting stars into the sky.

One hot summer night, Lily couldn't sleep. She crept outside to sit by the pool, watching the moonlight dance on the water. Suddenly, the water began to glow. Ripples formed patterns—spiral shapes, like galaxies spinning in the deep.

Then something miraculous happened. A great bull made entirely of starlight rose from the pool's center. His horns were crescent moons, his eyes twinkled like distant suns, and his hooves made no sound as he stepped onto the grass.

"Hello, small one," the Starlight Bull spoke, his voice like wind chimes. "I am Taurus, keeper of forgotten wishes. Every hundred years, I visit one child whose heart is pure and full of wonder."

Lily's eyes widened. "You're real?"

"As real as your dreams," the bull nodded. "I grant one wish. But first, you must show me something brave."

Lily thought hard. Then she remembered something. Her little brother Tom was scared of the water and never learned to swim. He missed all the pool fun with their friends.

"I wish," Lily said, "for the courage to help my brother face his fears. Can you make me brave enough to teach him?"

The Starlight Bull's constellation body shimmered brighter than ever. "You are already brave, Lily. You wished for someone else's happiness, not your own. That is the truest courage."

The bull reached into the pool and pulled out a silver padel, its surface swirling with galaxy patterns. "Take this. When you swing it, it will create ripples of courage in anyone's heart."

Lily took the magical padel. "Thank you! But won't you stay?"

"I must return to the sky," Taurus smiled, already fading into mist. "But look up tonight. I'll be the brightest star in your constellation."

The next morning, Lily found Tom watching the pool nervously. She picked up the magic padel and gently swung it through the air. Sparkles drifted toward Tom, who suddenly smiled, his fear melting away like morning dew.

"I'm ready," Tom said, and together they stepped into the water.

That night, Lily looked up at the stars. One star twinkled especially bright—the Starlight Bull, winking at her. And she knew that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is help someone else find their courage.
