The Starlight Bull's Gift

Lily loved her magical hat. It was purple with silver stars that twinkled when she spun around. But today, the hat sat on her bed while she played on her iPhone, lost in a world of tiny glowing birds.

Outside, something snorted.

Lily peeked through the window and gasped. A magnificent bull stood in her backyard! But this was no ordinary bull—his fur shimmered like moonlight, and his horns were made of polished gold. He was running in circles, leaving trails of sparkling dust behind him.

The bull looked right at Lily and nodded his giant head. He wanted her to follow!

Lily grabbed her purple hat and dashed outside. The moment the hat touched her head, she felt light as a feather. The starry bull lowered himself, and somehow Lily knew she was meant to climb onto his back.

Hold on tight! the bull seemed to say without speaking.

They were running—faster than anything Lily had ever imagined! The backyard blurred. Trees streaked past like green paint. Then they were UP, soaring through clouds that tasted like strawberry cotton candy.

Where are we going? Lily wondered.

The bull's answer appeared in her palm—a tiny glowing map drawn in light! It showed an island made entirely of books, with rivers of chocolate milk flowing between the pages.

They landed softly on the biggest book. The bull bowed, and Lily slid down, her purple hat still twinkling. All around her, characters from stories were dancing and playing. A rabbit invited her to a tea party. A dragon offered her a marshmallow roasted on his gentle fire.

Lily laughed until her belly hurt. She had forgotten all about her iPhone and its tiny glowing birds. This was real magic—friendship and adventure, waiting right outside her window.

When the starry bull nudged her shoulder, Lily knew it was time to go home. She hugged his golden neck and whispered, Thank you.

Back in her room, Lily placed her magical hat on its special hook. Tomorrow, she would explore the woods behind her house. The starry bull had shown her something wonderful—the best adventures don't happen on screens. They happen when you look up, step outside, and let magic find you.

And somewhere, under the light of a smiling moon, a starlight bull was running, waiting for the next child who believed in impossible things.
