The Starlight Bull's Game

Maya loved brushing her curly hair before bed, but tonight she noticed something strange. Her mirror rippled like a pond, and through it she saw a golden pyramid floating among silver clouds.

"Curiouser and curiouser," she whispered, remembering her favorite book.

Suddenly, a gentle voice boomed behind her. Maya turned to find a magnificent bull standing in her bedroom—his coat shimmered with constellations, and his horns glowed like moonbeams.

"I'm Orion," the bull said kindly. "I've lost my favorite toy."

"What kind of toy does a star bull have?" Maya asked, her eyes wide with wonder.

Orion smiled, revealing twinkling teeth. "A moonstone padel for the Great Cloud Game. We bat stars back and forth across the Milky Way. Without it, the stars won't twinkle properly!"

Maya's heart beat with excitement. "I'll help you find it!"

They climbed onto Orion's back, and WHOOSH—they soared through her ceiling into the night sky. Stars greeted them like old friends as they searched behind comets and under planets.

At last, inside a crystal cave on the golden pyramid, they found it—a glowing padel made of moonlight, studded with tiny diamonds.

"Thank you, Maya!" Orion cheered. "You've saved the starlight!"

As a reward, he gave her a special blessing. "Whenever you brush your hair, the stars will send you sweet dreams."

Maya woke up safe in her bed. Had it all been a dream? She smiled, noticing her hair now sparkled with tiny starlight that only appeared in the mirror.

Some adventures, she learned, are real even when they seem like magic. And the best friends can be found in the most unexpected places—like a star bull who needed her help.

That night, Maya fell asleep dreaming of the Great Cloud Game, her heart full of wonder and the promise of new adventures among the stars.
