The Starlight Bear's Gift
Barnaby was a small bear with a very big problem. He was afraid of everything. Dark caves made him tremble. Loud thunder made him hide. Even his own shadow sometimes spooked him!
One rainy morning, Barnaby discovered something peculiar near the old oak tree. A colorful hat sat on a mossy branch, glowing softly with rainbow light. It wasn't just any hat — this one sparkled like captured sunshine.
"Hello?" Barnaby whispered, reaching out with one cautious paw.
The hat hopped onto his head!
Inside the hat's brim, Barnaby found tiny glowing crystals. A note floated down: *These are勇气 vitamins. One gives you courage for one hour.*
"Vitamins?" Barnaby blinked. He'd never heard of magic vitamins before!
Suddenly, a squeak echoed from the river. A baby rabbit was stuck on a rock as water rose higher and higher.
Barnaby's heart raced. He wanted to help, but the rushing water looked so scary.
"Just one vitamin," he told himself. "Just for one hour."
He swallowed a glowing crystal. Warmth spread through his chest, making his fur tingle. Fear melted away like snow in springtime.
Barnaby leaped into the water! He paddled strongly, reaching the rabbit just in time. Together they splashed to safety.
"Thank you!" cheered the rabbit. "You're the bravest bear ever!"
But Barnaby noticed something strange. The magic faded, yet he still felt brave inside. He hadn't needed the vitamin after all.
"The real magic was inside you all along," his mother explained later, hugging him tight. "Sometimes we just need a little reminder of our own strength."
Barnaby wore his special hat every day after that, sharing the courage vitamins with anyone who needed them. But the best part? He discovered that the more he helped others, the braver he became — without any magic at all.
And that, little ones, is how Barnaby the Bear learned that the strongest magic lives in a kind heart.
