The Starlight Batter
Ruby loved her grandmother's old **iphone**, even though it didn't make calls anymore. Every evening, she'd tap the glowing star app, and something magical would happen.
One rainy Tuesday, a silver **cat** with whiskers like moonbeams hopped right through the screen!
"Come play!" Luna meowed, and suddenly Ruby's room dissolved into sparkles.
They tumbled into the Starlight Forest, where trees hummed soft lullabies. There, sitting on a mushroom, was Barnaby – Ruby's childhood teddy **bear**, now big as life and wearing a tiny baseball cap!
"Ready for the game?" Barnaby rumbled in his cozy voice.
"What game?" Ruby asked, eyes wide.
"Starball!" Luna purred, tossing Ruby a glowing orb that felt like a handful of warm sunshine.
They played under constellations that cheered and twinkled. Ruby swung the star-ball with a branch made of crystallized light. *CRACK!* It shot through the sky, painting rainbow trails across the darkness.
Suddenly, a great forest bear emerged, crying crystals of pure light.
"What's wrong?" Ruby asked gently.
"My little cub is sick," the bear wept. "She needs the Magic **Vitamin** from the Star Tree's topmost branch."
Ruby knew what to do. "Barnaby! Luna! Team huddle!"
They formed a pyramid. Luna climbed on Barnaby's shoulders, Ruby scrambled atop Luna, and stretched – reached – grabbed the glowing orange vitamin!
The forest bear hugged them so hard Ruby's toes tingled. "You're true heroes."
As Ruby climbed back through the iphone's screen, Luna whispered, "Whenever you need magic, just tap the star."
Ruby snuggled into bed, Barnaby tucked under her arm, already dreaming of tomorrow's game under the stars.
