The Starfruit Tree Secret

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house, especially the garden behind it. But today something strange happened. As she sat beneath the old coconut palm, she heard a grumbling voice.

"Excuse me, little one. Could you move your foot?"

Lily jumped up! A tiny bull with a sparkling golden nose was standing beside her. He was only as tall as her knee!

"I'm Barnaby," said the tiny bull. "I'm the guardian of this palm tree. And you're standing on my favorite snack."

Lily looked down. A bright orange fruit glowed beneath the palm roots. It pulsed like a little heartbeat.

"That's a starfruit," Barnaby explained. "But not just any starfruit. It's a friendship fruit. It only grows when someone truly kind comes near."

Lily's eyes widened. "A friendship fruit?"

"Indeed!" Barnaby's tail swished happily. "Once every hundred years, this tree grants one wish to a pure-hearted friend. What would you wish for?"

Lily thought hard. Her grandmother had been feeling tired lately. She wished she could help.

"I wish for my grandmother to feel strong again," Lily said softly.

Barnaby smiled, and the starfruit floated into the air. It burst into a shower of golden sparkles! Each sparkle smelled like sunshine and tasted like summer.

"This fruit is magic," Barnaby said. "It's filled with more love and goodness than any vitamin in the world. Your grandmother will feel stronger with every bite."

Lily caught the sparkles in her hands. They formed into three glowing starfruits!

"Share them with kindness," Barnaby whispered. "That's the real magic."

That night, Lily and her grandmother shared the starfruits under the coconut palm. With each bite, Grandma's cheeks grew rosier and her eyes brighter. By morning, she was dancing in the garden!

Barnaby was gone, but Lily knew she'd made a friend for life. And sometimes, when she visited the palm tree, she found tiny golden flowers waiting for her—little gifts from a very small bull with a very big heart.

Lily learned that the best magic comes from kindness, and the strongest medicine in the world is love.
