The Star-Fruit Bull's Magical Court
Lily loved searching for treasures on the beach. One morning, she found something strange—a thick golden cable half-buried in the sand. It hummed with a soft, glowing light.
Curious, she followed the cable across the sparkling sand until it disappeared into a sea cave. Lily stepped inside, and her eyes went wide.
The cave opened into a hidden grotto with a secret pool perfect for swimming. But what made her gasp was what stood beside the water—a magnificent bull with a coat like sunshine and flowers woven between his horns.
"Welcome!" said the bull, whose name was Barnaby. "I'm the guardian of the Star-Fruit Court. Would you like to play?"
Lily watched in amazement as Barnaby trotted to a paddle ball court hidden in the grotto. Padel was his favorite game! He held the paddle with his hoof and served the ball with surprising grace.
"You're wonderful!" Lily cheered, clapping her hands.
Barnaby smiled. "I wasn't always this strong. See those glowing orange fruits on that tree? They're star-fruits, packed with a special vitamin that gives anyone who eats them courage and energy."
He tossed one to Lily. She took a bite—sweet, warm, and filled with tiny sparkles. Suddenly, she felt braver than she'd ever felt before.
"Now we can play together!" Barnaby said. They played padel for hours, laughing as the ball bounced off the cave walls. Afterwards, they went swimming in the magical pool, which felt like floating in liquid starlight.
As the sun began to set, Barnaby grew serious. "Lily, this cave is my secret home. Not all creatures are kind to magical bulls. Will you promise to keep my haven safe?"
Lily touched her heart. "I promise. Friendship is the greatest magic of all."
She followed the golden cable back to the beach, her pocket full of star-fruits to share with anyone who needed a little extra courage. And every summer, she returned to visit her friend Barnaby for more swimming, more padel, and more magical adventures than she could have ever imagined.
