The Star Bull's Silver Gift

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm, especially the secret spot behind the old willow tree where a tiny spring bubbled up. The water there was crystal clear and always felt magical against her fingertips.

One warm summer evening, as the sun painted the sky pink and orange, Lily heard a strange snorting sound coming from near the spring. She crept closer and gasped. Standing by the water was the most beautiful creature she had ever seen—a bull with fur that sparkled like diamonds and a mane of flowing silver hair that glowed in the twilight.

"Please don't be afraid," the bull said softly. Lily stepped back in surprise. "I am Taurus, fallen from the stars. I slipped while dancing across the night sky and landed in your world."

Lily's fear melted away. "Are you hurt?"

"Only my pride," Taurus replied with a gentle snort. "I cannot return to the sky until the next full moon. I have never been so lonely."

"I'll be your friend!" Lily declared. "And Grandmother always says friends help each other."

For two wonderful weeks, Lily and Taurus had amazing adventures. The star bull showed her how to make flowers bloom with just a nudge of his nose, and together they raced across the meadow faster than the wind. Taurus even let Lily braid his shimmering silver hair into fancy patterns.

But as the full moon rose, Taurus grew sad. "I must go home now," he said. "The magic that brought me here is fading."

Lily felt tears prick her eyes. "I'll miss you, my friend."

Taurus nuzzled her hand gently. "True friendship is like starlight—it bridges any distance. Close your eyes."

Lily watched as Taurus galloped toward the moon, transforming into a streak of silver light that joined the stars. From that night on, whenever she looked up at the constellation Taurus, she swear she could see the bull wink, and her silver hair ribbon—which had been plain brown that morning—sparkled with the same starlight glow.
