The Star Bull's Secret Friend

cablebullspy

Leo loved being a spy. Not the kind with magnifying glasses and secret codes, but the quiet kind who noticed things others missed. From his bedroom window, he watched the world—neighbors walking dogs, clouds shaped like ice cream cones, and especially the night sky.

One summer evening, while the stars were waking up, Leo spotted something extraordinary. A magnificent creature made of golden light stepped softly onto the old cable car track on the hill. It was a bull, but not like the ones in books. Its horns gleamed like polished moonbeams, and its coat shimmered with the sparkle of a thousand stars.

"Hello, little friend," the bull spoke, and Leo nearly tumbled out of his window in surprise. "I'm Taurus, come down from the sky to visit Earth. But I seem to have stepped into something troublesome."

The bull's hoof was tangled in an old, rusty cable that nobody had used in years. It pulled tighter with every gentle move he made.

Leo grabbed his flashlight and rushed outside. "I'll help!" he cried. With careful fingers, he unwound the cable from around the star bull's leg. When the last loop fell away, Taurus nuzzled Leo's cheek with a nose that felt like warm sunshine.

"Thank you, kind friend. For your help, I offer you a gift." Taurus lowered his magnificent head, and from his horn fell a tiny glowing star that landed in Leo's palm. "Keep this close, and whenever you need courage or friendship, it will shine for you."

Every night after that, Leo would spy Taurus trotting across the hills, and the little star in his room would twinkle in response. Leo had learned that the best kind of spy isn't someone who sneaks and hides—it's someone who notices when others need help, and comes running.

And somewhere up in the constellation, Taurus tells the other stars about the brave little boy with the biggest heart on Earth.
