The Star-Bull's Secret Friend
Lily discovered something strange behind the old palm tree in her backyard. A shimmering silver cable stretched from the ground straight up into the stars, humming with a gentle rainbow glow. Being ten years old and full of curiosity, Lily wrapped both hands around it and gave a gentle tug.
Suddenly, the cable began to pull back! Lily's feet lifted off the grass, and she floated upward, past the palm fronds, past the clouds, until she landed on a fluffy cloud kingdom. There, a magnificent creature waited — a bull made entirely of twinkling stars, with galaxies swirling in his massive horns.
"Thank you for coming," the Star-Bull said softly. His voice sounded like wind chimes. "I need your help. Someone has stolen my magic padel, and without it, I cannot paint the sunset across the sky each evening."
Lily's eyes widened with wonder. "You paint the SUNSET? That's my favorite time of day!"
"The Moon Sprites took it," the Star-Bull explained sadly. "They're jealous of how I make the sky beautiful. But I don't want to fight them. I want to be their friend."
Lily thought carefully. "I have an idea! What if we paint something even MORE beautiful together — something that includes everyone?"
Using the magic cable as a bridge, Lily led the Star-Bull to the Moon Sprites' crystal palace. Instead of demanding the padel back, Lily suggested they all paint a sunset together — Moon Sprites, Star-Bull, and even Lily with her small paintbrush from home.
The Moon Sprites were so surprised by Lily's kindness that they returned the magic padel immediately. That evening, they created the most spectacular sunset anyone had ever seen — streaks of purple, pink, and gold, with sparkling star patterns woven throughout.
"Thank you, Lily," the Star-Bull said, his galaxy eyes shining warmly. "You taught me that kindness is stronger than any magic padel."
As Lily slid back down the silver cable to her backyard, she looked up at the magnificent sunset and smiled. She had made new friends in the sky and learned that the best magic comes from a kind heart. From that day on, every time she saw a beautiful sunset, she knew her friend the Star-Bull was painting it, with a little help from the Moon Sprites.
