The Star-Bull's Secret
Lily loved thunderstorms. While other children hid under blankets, she pressed her nose against the window, watching the sky dance. One evening, as lightning flashed in brilliant purple streaks, she saw something impossible—a glowing shape falling from the heavens.
She ran outside into the rain, bare feet splashing through puddles. There, in her garden, stood the most magnificent creature she had ever seen. It was a bull, but not like any bull from a farm. Its fur shimmered like starlight, and its horns were made of pure crystal.
"I've been running across the galaxy for a thousand years," the star-bull said, his voice sounding like wind chimes. "The Dark Storms are chasing me. They want to steal the treasure I guard."
Lily's eyes widened. "What treasure?"
"Follow me."
The bull galloped toward the old pond at the edge of the woods. But as Lily stepped onto the muddy bank, the water began to glow. The pond wasn't just water anymore—it was revealing something beneath its surface. A crystal pyramid, taller than Lily's house, rose from the depths. Lightning struck its tip, and suddenly the whole pyramid was humming with energy.
"This is the Pyramid of Wishes," the star-bull explained. "Inside is the Water of Dreams. One drop can make anything come true. But the Dark Storms want to use it for selfishness."
Suddenly, shadows swirled around them. The Dark Storms had arrived!
"What do we do?" Lily cried, trembling.
The star-bull knelt beside her. "The pyramid only opens for a brave heart and a kind one together. I have bravery, but I need your kindness."
Lily thought of all the times she'd wished for friends, wished to be special. But looking at the star-bull, scared and alone, she made her choice. She placed her hand on his crystal horn. "I wish for the Water to be safe forever."
The pyramid's doors opened. A single drop of glowing water floated out and merged with the star-bull's forehead. He glowed brighter than ever, and the Dark Storms dissolved into harmless rain.
"You saved me," the bull said. "And you taught me something—true magic isn't about wishes. It's about friendship."
As the storm cleared and morning peeked through the clouds, the star-bull soared back into the sky. But sometimes, when lightning crackles, Lily swears she sees his starlight twinkling back at her, and she smiles, knowing the best wishes are the ones we make for others.
