The Star-Bull's Secret
Luna loved visiting her grandmother's farm. Every summer, she'd spend hours exploring the fields, climbing trees, and imagining magical creatures hiding in the tall grass.
One hot afternoon, while helping grandmother pick fruit, Luna found something extraordinary. Behind the old papaya tree grew a single papaya that glowed with soft golden light, like a tiny moon had fallen from the sky.
"Grandmother, look!" Luna called, her eyes wide with wonder.
Her grandmother smiled knowingly. "Ah, the Star Fruit. It only appears when someone pure of heart needs a friend."
That night, Luna couldn't sleep. She crept outside to the papaya tree. The glowing fruit pulsed warmly, and suddenly, a magnificent bull emerged from the shadows. But this was no ordinary bull – his coat shimmered with starlight, and his horns were made of crystallized moonbeams.
"I've been waiting for you," the Star-Bull said gently. "The world is forgetting how to dream. Will you help me remember?"
Luna nodded, her heart fluttering like a hummingbird.
The Star-Bull led her to an old telephone cable that ran through the meadow. "This cable doesn't just carry voices," he explained. "It carries dreams, wishes, and stories from children all over the world. But it's growing weak because people have stopped believing in magic."
Luna placed her hand on the cable. She felt tingles of laughter, whispers of bedtime stories, and echoes of "I wish" flowing through it like electric honey.
"What can I do?" she asked.
"Believe," the Star-Bull said. "Share your dreams with others. Never stop wondering."
Luna took a bite of the glowing papaya. It tasted like sunshine and stardust. Suddenly, she understood – magic wasn't gone. It was just waiting for someone to notice it again.
Every summer after that, Luna returned to the farm. She'd bring friends to the papaya tree, tell them about the Star-Bull, and together they'd touch the old cable, sending their dreams out into the world. And each time, the cable grew a little brighter, the Star-Bull a little stronger, and the world a little more magical.
Because Luna learned that the most powerful magic of all is believing in something wonderful – and sharing that belief with friends.
