The Star Bull's Secret

Leo was the best nature spy in the whole neighborhood. Every afternoon after school, he'd grab his binoculars and tiptoe through the tall grass, discovering the magical secrets that most people never noticed. The spiders weaving diamond webs. The ants having parades. The wind whispering stories to the oak trees.

One summer evening, just as the first stars appeared, Leo saw something extraordinary. A great bull made of starlight was standing right in Mrs. Higgins' garden! But this wasn't an ordinary bull. His horns glowed like crescent moons, and his coat sparkled with a thousand tiny stars.

"I'm Taurus," the star bull said softly. "I've come down from the sky because I'm lonely up there all by myself."

Leo noticed something sad trailing behind the bull — little zombie fireflies! They were bumping into each other, confused and sleepy, their lights completely dimmed.

"They're lost fireflies from my constellation," Taurus explained. "They forgot how to glow because they haven't visited Earth in so long."

Leo's heart felt big with compassion. "I can help!" And suddenly he was running toward his house, grabbing the old cable from his dad's broken radio — the one he'd saved because it looked like a magical rope.

"Watch this!" Leo wove the cable into a circle and whispered the secret words his grandmother taught him: "Wonder wakes the sleeping light."

He tossed the glowing cable over the zombie fireflies like a lasso of kindness. One by one, they began to wiggle. Then stretch. Then — POP! POP! POP! — their lights blazed to life again! Gold, green, and pink sparkles filled the garden.

The star bull's eyes shone with gratitude. "You've reminded them who they are. And you've reminded me why Earth is so special — because of hearts like yours."

That night, Leo learned that the best kind of spy isn't someone who just watches. The best kind of spy is someone who notices who needs help and rushes to their rescue. And sometimes, the most magical friendships happen when you least expect them — right in your own backyard, under the watching stars.
