The Star-Bull's Midnight Swim
Maya had the most extraordinary hair in her whole village. It flowed like a river of chocolate silk and shimmered with tiny sparks whenever she laughed. But Maya kept one special secret — whenever she made a wish, her hair would glow golden like captured sunshine.
One summer evening, Maya followed a mysterious silver cable that seemed to hang from the stars themselves. It led her to a hidden cove where the water sparkled like liquid diamonds. There, watching her with sad, gentle eyes, was the most magnificent creature she had ever seen — a bull made entirely of soft, glowing clouds.
"I'm Taurus," the bull rumbled softly. "I fell from my constellation while learning to gallop across the night sky. Now I'm stuck here, and I don't know how to return home."
Maya's hair began to glow brighter than ever before. "Have you tried swimming through the Star River that connects earth to sky?" she asked. "My grandmother told me stories about it."
The cloud-bull shook his head. "I've never been swimming. The water looks so deep and mysterious."
"Don't worry," Maya said, taking his velvety cloud-hoof. "I'll teach you! Everyone must learn to swim sometime — even star-creatures."
Together they stepped into the magical water. At first, Taurus was clumsy and afraid. But Maya was patient. She showed him how to paddle his legs, how to hold his breath, and how to trust the water to hold him up.
"You're doing wonderfully!" Maya cheered as Taurus took his first confident strokes.
Suddenly, the silver cable began to hum and glow. It pulled upward, lifting them higher and higher until they were swimming through a river of stars itself! Taurus kicked powerfully, his cloud-body growing stronger with every stroke.
"Thank you, Maya!" Taurus called as he found his place among the constellations. "I learned that being brave doesn't mean you're not afraid — it means trying anyway!"
Maya waved as her new friend shone proudly in the night sky. Her hair glowed one last time, even brighter than before, because she knew the best adventures are the ones you share with friends.
