The Star Bull's Midnight Run
Leo discovered something magical in his grandmother's garden. The ordinary spinach leaves shimmered with an unusual pale green glow under the moonlight. Curious, he plucked one leaf and felt a tingle of warmth spread through his hands and down to his legs. Suddenly, Leo found himself running faster than he'd ever run before, the world blurring into streaks of silver and shadow as he zoomed past the oak tree and around the garden fence.
That's when he saw it — an enormous bull with midnight-blue fur and silver-white speckles that twinkled like tiny stars. The creature stood calmly by the old well, its large brown eyes filled with a gentle sadness.
"I'm Taurus," the bull spoke in a voice like distant thunder, deep and warm. "I fell from my constellation during last night's meteor shower. Now I'm stuck here until the stars align again."
Leo's eyes widened. The constellation bull! His grandmother had told him stories about Taurus, the guardian of the night sky. "What do you need to get home?" Leo asked, his heart pounding with excitement.
"I must reach Hilltop Peak before midnight," Taurus explained. "But I'm too heavy to climb quickly, and the path is steep."
Leo smiled and patted his pocket, where he'd tucked two more magical spinach leaves. "Climb on my back," he said confidently. "Together, we can make it."
The bull's eyes twinkled with hope. Leo swallowed the spinach leaves, and suddenly he felt stronger than ten elephants. Taurus climbed carefully onto Leo's back, and though the bull was huge, Leo barely felt the weight. They set off running up the winding path, Leo's feet barely touching the ground as they soared through the forest.
They reached Hilltop Peak just as the clock tower began to chime midnight. Leo knelt so Taurus could step onto the highest rock. The bull closed his eyes and began to glow, lifting slowly into the star-filled sky. "Thank you, Leo," Taurus called down, his voice growing distant. "Your kindness helped me home."
As the bull ascended, he left behind a trail of silver sparkles that settled in Leo's palm — three perfect spinach seeds, forever glowing with starlight. Leo planted them by his grandmother's garden, knowing that whenever he needed to help a friend, the magic spinach would be there waiting.
