The Star Bull's Midnight Run
Lila loved sitting on her back porch, her palm resting against the cool wooden railing as she watched the stars. Every night, she wished the same wish: to see something magical.
One Tuesday, something extraordinary happened. A great bull made of shimmering starlight crashed through the sky! His hooves were made of comets, his horns of crescent moons. He landed right in Lila's backyard with a soft thud.
"Oh no!" snorted the Star Bull. "I'm late for the Great Galaxy Race!" His voice sounded like wind chimes.
Lilla's eyes grew wide. "I can help! What do you need?"
"The race starts at the edge of the world," said the bull. "But I've hurt my leg falling from the sky. I cannot keep running."
Without thinking, Lila opened her palm and showed the bull a small glow-in-the-dark sticker she'd been saving. It was a shooting star.
"This once guided me through a scary dark hallway," she said. "Maybe it can help you now."
The Star Bull's eyes sparkled. "That sticker holds your courage! If you place it on my leg, your bravery will heal me."
Lila pressed the sticker onto the bull's injured leg. Golden light swirled around them both.
"Hop on!" the bull cheered.
Lila climbed onto the Star Bull's back, gripping his moon-horns. They launched into the sky, running faster than any shooting star. Palm trees below became tiny green broccolis. Oceans looked like spilled glitter.
"We're going to make it!" Lila shouted into the cool night air.
They reached the edge of the world just in time. The Star Bull won the race, and as a reward, he granted Lilla one wish.
She didn't wish for toys or candy. Instead, she wished that every child could see their own small courage turn into something wonderful.
That night, Lila fell asleep with her palm open to the sky, knowing that magic begins with something small, something brave, something real.
