The Star Bull's Magic Cable
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm. She especially loved climbing the old palm tree behind the barn, where she could watch the stars appear one by one.
One summer evening, Lily discovered something strange tangled in the palm tree's leaves. It was a dusty old cable, shimmering with tiny sparkles like captured starlight.
"What are you?" Lily whispered, wrapping the cable around her palm.
Suddenly, the cable began to glow! Warm light pulsed through it like heartbeat, traveling up her arm and making her fingers tingle. The palm tree's leaves rustled, even though there was no wind.
Then something magical happened. The stars in the sky started moving, swirling together until they formed the shape of a great bull made entirely of starlight. The bull lowered its enormous head, and its eyes shone like two full moons.
"Thank you for finding my magic cable," the Star Bull spoke, its voice sounding like distant thunder and gentle rain. "I dropped it from the sky three hundred years ago. Without it, I couldn't visit my friend the palm tree."
"You're friends with a tree?" Lily asked, wide-eyed.
"The best kind of friend," the bull nodded. "The palm tree holds my stories in its leaves, and I bring it starlight to help it grow strong. But without my cable, I could only watch from far away."
Lily's palm glowed brighter as the cable pulsed with happiness. "I can be your friend too!"
The Star Bull smiled, and wherever its hooves touched the ground, silver flowers bloomed. "True friendship, dear Lily, is like this cable—it connects hearts across any distance. You found what was lost and returned it with kindness. That's the most powerful magic of all."
The Star Bull touched Lily's forehead with its nose, leaving a mark shaped like a tiny star. Then it dissolved into a thousand sparkling lights that swirled back up into the sky.
The cable untangled itself from Lily's palm and floated up to join the stars. Lily watched the palm tree sway peacefully, its leaves shimmering with starlight.
Now whenever Lily looks at the constellation Taurus, she winks. And sometimes, just sometimes, the Star Bull winks back, reminding her that the best friends are the ones you help, even when they're made of stars.
