The Star Bull's Gift
Lily loved lying on the grass at night, watching stars dance across the sky. Her grandma had taught her to find shapes in the stars, but tonight she saw something she'd never noticed before.
"Look!" she whispered. "It's a bull!"
Sure enough, seven bright stars formed the shape of a mighty bull with curved horns. But this was no ordinary constellation. The bull's eyes twinkled like tiny lanterns, and when Lily blinked, one star broke free and tumbled toward her!
The star landed softly beside her, glowing warm and golden. It transformed into a tiny bull no bigger than her hand, with fur that sparkled like diamonds.
"I'm Orion," the little bull said in a voice like gentle wind chimes. "I've watched you wish for a friend to share your adventures. Tonight, I'm here to help."
Orion led Lily through her backyard, which had somehow transformed into a magical desert. Sand dunes glowed purple under starlight, and cacti played soft melodies when the breeze touched them.
"We need to build something special," Orion explained. "A monument to friendship."
Together, they gathered glowing stones that hummed with happiness. Lily stacked them carefully, one by one, while Orion used his magical horn to polish each stone until it shone like a tiny moon. Slowly, a beautiful pyramid took shape, each layer representing something wonderful: kindness at the base, laughter in the middle, and dreams at the very top.
When they placed the final stone, the pyramid burst with rainbow light that spiraled into the sky. Other stars broke free and floated down, transforming into more magical creatures – a rabbit with wings, a turtle that could sing, a fox made of autumn leaves.
"Thank you for believing in magic," Orion said, nuzzling Lily's hand. "You've built a pyramid of friendship that will always bring new friends to your doorstep."
Lily woke up in her bed as morning light filled her room. Had it all been a dream? She looked outside and gasped. In her garden stood a tiny crystal pyramid, and beside it, a small stone bull with diamond eyes that seemed to wink.
That day, a new girl moved in next door. Her name was Maya, and she loved stories about stars and magic. Lily knew they would be the best of friends – because friendship, like the stars, shines brightest when you believe in its magic.
