The Squirrel Spy's Secret Mission

Ten-year-old Maya loved playing baseball at the park, but she always got nervous when it was her turn to bat. What if she missed? What if everyone laughed?

One sunny afternoon, while sitting on the bench dreading her turn, Maya noticed something strange. A tiny squirrel peeked at her from behind an oak tree, then waved what looked like a miniature **iPhone** made of acorn wood and shiny leaves.

"Psst! Human child!" squeaked the squirrel. "I'm Agent Nutmeg, and I need your help!"

Maya rubbed her eyes. "You can talk?"

"I'm a **spy** for the Forest Kingdom," whispered Agent Nutmeg, adjusting his tiny acorn cap. "And I've discovered something wonderful!"

The squirrel led Maya behind the bushes where his animal friends were playing **padel** using pinecones as balls and flat mushrooms as racquets. They laughed and cheered whenever someone missed.

"In the forest, nobody worries about being perfect," Nutmeg explained. "We play for joy!" He handed Maya a glowing orange **vitamin** that sparkled like magic. "This is a Courage Vitamin from Queen Willow herself. One bite, and you'll remember that brave people aren't afraid—they just try anyway!"

Maya nibbled the sweet fruit. Warmth filled her chest. Suddenly, her baseball worries seemed small.

"But wait," Nutmeg said, checking his wooden phone. "The real secret isn't the vitamin. It's knowing your friends are cheering for you, no matter what!"

Maya looked at the forest animals. They weren't cheering because someone was good at padel—they were cheering because everyone was PLAYING.

Back at the baseball field, Maya stepped up to the plate with a smile. She missed the first swing. Then the second. But her teammates shouted, "You've got this, Maya!" And that felt better than a home run would have.

Third swing: *CRACK!* The ball sailed through the air. Maya ran with all her might, grinning from ear to ear.

Agent Nutmeg watched from the oak tree, tail twitching happily. His mission was complete.

That day, Maya learned something magical: Courage doesn't mean you're not scared. It means you're scared, but you try anyway—and true friends will always be there, win or lose.
