The Spy Who Saved Magic
Lily was only nine years old, but she had a secret. She was a spy for the Magical Kingdom, tasked with protecting wonder from disappearing forever.
One sunny afternoon, Lily spotted something strange in her backyard. An orange pyramid had appeared overnight, glowing softly beside the old oak tree. It pulsed with magic—Lily could feel it tingling on her skin.
"Finally," she whispered. "The Gateway has opened."
Lily grabbed her baseball mitt from the porch. The ball inside shimmered with tiny sparkles—this was no ordinary baseball. It was a Sphere of Truth, given to her by the Queen of Magic herself.
As Lily stepped closer to the pyramid, a tiny green creature popped out from behind it. He looked like a bunny made entirely of fresh spinach leaves!
"Help!" cried the Spinach Bunny. "The Gray Fog is coming! It's eating all the magic in the world!"
Lily knew exactly what to do. She tossed the magical baseball into the air. "Catch!" she called to the bunny.
The Spinach Bunny hopped high, his leafy ears fluttering. With a gentle *plomp*, he caught the Sphere of Truth. Suddenly, brilliant orange light burst from the baseball, wrapping around the pyramid like a glowing ribbon.
The Gray Fog retreated, hissing as it vanished.
"You saved us!" cheered the bunny, handing Lily a real orange from inside the pyramid. "Magic always needs friends like you—brave, kind, and quick-thinking."
Lily smiled, taking a bite of the sweetest orange she'd ever tasted. She realized something important that day: magic wasn't just about sparkles and spells. It was about courage, helping others, and never giving up, even when things seemed impossible.
And that, she knew, was the greatest magic of all.
