The Spinach Pyramid Mystery

Leo hated spinach. Every time his grandma served it, he made a face.

One hot summer afternoon, Leo was playing baseball in the backyard when he noticed something strange in Grandma's garden. The spinach plants were glowing green—brighter than grass, brighter than emeralds!

Curious, Leo crept closer. His baseball rolled into the garden, landing right beside a spinach leaf that shimmered like it had stars inside.

"That's weird," Leo whispered. He grabbed the old watering can shaped like a baseball—Grandpa's old prize from his baseball days—and poured water over the glowing plant.

*WHOOSH!* The spinach plant shot up! It grew taller and taller, twisting and turning until it formed a perfect green pyramid, taller than Leo!

"Wow," Leo breathed.

The pyramid's sides parted like curtains, revealing a magical world inside. There were children playing baseball, but the ball was made of spinach leaves that floated like bubbles, and the bases were piles of sparkling spinach!

"Come play!" called a girl with hair like spinach leaves. "We need one more player!"

Leo stepped inside. The air smelled fresh and sweet—nothing like the spinach he hated. He played the most magical baseball game of his life. When he hit the spinach-ball, it rained down sparkles that made everyone laugh.

"Why didn't I ever like spinach?" Leo asked afterward.

The girl giggled. "Because you never saw it with your imagination. Everything is magical when you look with wonder."

Leo suddenly woke up in his bed, the morning sun streaming through his window. Had it been a dream?

At breakfast, Grandma served spinach.

Leo smiled and took a big bite. "This spinach might grow pyramids," he said.

Grandma looked confused, but Leo just winked. Some secrets are best kept by friends who know that magic hides everywhere—even in the foods you think you hate.
