The Spinach Champions
Milo hated spinach. Every time his mom served those green leaves, he made a face.
"But spinach has important vitamins," Mom would say. "It makes you strong."
Milo didn't believe her. He wanted to be strong like his big brother, whose muscles looked like baseballs under his skin. Not that green stuff.
One afternoon, Milo was sitting in the backyard, feeling grumpy. He'd lost his mom's iPhone somewhere in the garden, and now he had to search through every bush and flower bed. He'd already looked everywhere.
He sat down on the grass and opened his hand to rest his chin in his palm. That's when he saw it—a tiny boy, no bigger than his thumb, sitting right there in his hand!
"Please help us," squeaked the tiny boy. "I'm Pip, and our team is too weak to play the championship game. We need vitamins!"
Milo blinked. "Vitamins?"
"Yes! The magical kind in spinach! Our fields are empty, and without spinach energy, we can't win against the Giants."
Milo's eyes widened. A tiny baseball game? This was the most exciting thing that had ever happened to him!
"I know where there's spinach," Milo whispered. "In our garden."
He carried Pip carefully to the vegetable patch, where bright green leaves grew tall. Pip's eyes lit up like stars.
"The Champions' Spinach!" Pip cheered. "Thank you, friend!"
Pip called his team—twelve tiny players who emerged from behind flowers. They ate the spinach leaves, and suddenly they glowed with golden energy. They grew stronger, their eyes brighter.
"You saved us!" Pip said. "Because of you, we can play!"
As thanks, the tiny baseball team used their new energy to search every inch of the garden. Within minutes, they found the missing iPhone tucked beneath a pumpkin vine.
That night, Milo ate all his spinach at dinner. His mom almost fainted from surprise.
"Spinach has vitamins," Milo said with a secret smile. "And magical powers too."
