The Sphinx Who Padel
Lily loved thunderstorms. When lightning flashed across the sky like silver ribbons, she pressed her nose against the window and dreamed of adventures.
One stormy evening, something incredible happened. A bolt of lightning struck the old park near her house — not with a crash, but with a soft *ping* sound, like a bell ringing.
The next morning, Lily discovered something amazing. Where the lightning had struck, a mysterious stone sphinx had appeared! It had the body of a lion and the face of a wise, friendly creature.
"Hello there," the sphinx said, opening one emerald eye. "I'm Serafina. Want to play padel?"
Lily gasped. "You play padel?"
"In Egypt, we invented all sports," Serafina winked. From behind her stone wings, she pulled out two padel rackets and a ball.
They played the most wonderful game. The sphinx moved surprisingly fast for someone made of stone, and Lily laughed so hard her sides hurt. Every time Serafina hit the ball, it sparkled with tiny lightning bolts.
"I have a secret," Serafina said during a break. "I'm actually a spy for the Guardians of Wonder. My job is to find children with big hearts and curious minds."
Lily's eyes widened. "A real spy?"
"The best kind," Serafina smiled. "I spy friendship, courage, and kindness. And I see all three in you."
From that day on, whenever lightning flashed across the sky, Lily knew her magical friend was nearby, ready for another game of padel and another adventure.
And sometimes, if you look closely during a storm, you might just see a sphinx with a padel racket, watching over children who dare to dream big dreams.
Because true magic isn't about lightning bolts or ancient secrets. It's about the friends we make and the games we play together.
