The Sphinx Who Loved Padel

Lily loved playing padel in her backyard. Every afternoon after school, she'd grab her neon-blue racket and hit the bright yellow ball against the garden wall. *Bop! Bop! Bop!* The sound echoed like tiny drumbeats.

One sunny afternoon, something magical happened. As Lily's ball rolled behind the old oak tree, a creature poked its head out. It had the body of a golden lion and the face of a wise woman with sparkling eyes.

"I am the Sphinx," she said in a voice like wind chimes. "And I've been watching you play. It looks like fun!"

Lily's eyes went wide. "You're real? Like in storybooks?"

"Very real." The Sphinx stepped out, her paws making no sound on the grass. "But I'm lonely. Nobody visits me anymore."

Lily noticed the Sphinx looked pale, her golden fur dull. "You need some sunshine vitamins!" Lily ran inside and returned with her mother's special orange slices. "These are nature's vitamins. They make you strong and happy."

The Sphinx ate them hesitantly, then her eyes lit up. "Delicious! I feel... sparkly!"

"Now," Lily said, holding up her extra padel racket, "want to play?"

The Sphinx learned quickly. At first, she was clumsy, her lion paws too big for the racket. But soon, *SWISH! SWISH!* She was hitting balls like a pro. The Sphinx's golden fur grew shiny again. Her laughter rang through the garden like bells.

"Playing with you is the best vitamin of all," the Sphinx said, hugging Lily. "Friendship makes everything better."

Every afternoon after school, Lily and the Sphinx played padel together. And whenever the Sphinx started feeling lonely, she didn't need magic potions or special spells. She just needed her friend Lily, their padel rackets, and lots of orange vitamin slices.

Because the best magic isn't found in ancient riddles or mysterious powers. The best magic is friendship, shared laughter, and having someone who always says, "Let's play again tomorrow!"
