The Sphinx Who Loved Orange
Mia loved running through her grandmother's magical garden, where flowers whispered secrets and butterflies painted rainbows in the air. One sunny afternoon, something extraordinary happened.
Behind the fountain sparkling with golden water, Mia discovered a tiny sphinx no bigger than her thumb. This wasn't a scary stone monster from books—it was a small, golden creature with sparkling blue eyes and feathery wings that shimmered like morning dew.
"Please help me!" squeaked the sphinx. "I've lost my favorite thing in the world!"
Mia stopped running and knelt gently. "What did you lose?"
"My orange marble! It's the most beautiful orange color—like sunrise and happiness all mixed together. Without it, I can't finish the friendship bracelet I'm making for the Moon Fairy."
Mia's heart melted. The sphinx wasn't mysterious or scary at all—just lonely and kind, wanting to make something special for a friend. "I'll help you find it!"
Together they searched every corner of the magical garden. Mia was running so fast that her feet barely touched the grass, while the sphinx fluttered above her like a tiny golden moth. They looked under rose petals, inside mushroom houses, and even asked the talking squirrels if they'd seen an orange marble.
Finally, beside a patch of cheerful orange marigolds, something caught Mia's eye. There it was! The marble glowed like a tiny captured sun.
"You found it!" The sphinx did a happy dance in midair. "Thank you for helping me!"
Mia realized something wonderful: running fast is fun, but helping friends is even better. And sometimes, the smallest adventures lead to the biggest friendships.
That evening, as Mia watched the moon rise, she spotted a flash of orange light near the Moon's silver face. The sphinx had finished its bracelet—and somewhere in the magical garden, a new friendship had bloomed like the orange marigolds, bright and beautiful and full of joy.
