The Sphinx Who Loved Baseball

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he would grab his glove and go **running** to the old park behind his house. But one Tuesday, something magical happened.

As Leo ran past the big oak tree, he spotted something strange. A magnificent creature sat near home plate — golden fur gleaming in the sunlight, with the body of a lion and the head of a wise person. It was a **sphinx**!

Leo hid behind the fence and peeked through the cracks like a tiny **spy**. The sphinx was watching intently as Leo practiced his pitching. Its golden eyes followed every throw.

"I can help you throw faster," the sphinx said suddenly. Leo jumped — the sphinx had spotted him!

"Who are you?" Leo asked, stepping closer.

"I am Cleo, and I've watched baseball for three thousand years," the sphinx said with a smile. "My favorite game." From her paw, she produced a small, glowing orange tablet. "This is a special **vitamin** from my homeland. One bite will give you courage and confidence."

Leo took the magical vitamin. Suddenly, he felt brave and strong. "Will you watch me play?" he asked.

Cleo nodded. "With pleasure."

At the big game that Saturday, Leo played better than ever. Every time he looked at the fence, he saw Cleo's golden eyes watching proudly. His team won, and Leo felt like the champion he truly was.

From that day on, Leo and Cleo became best friends. Leo learned that even the most magical creatures just want someone to share their favorite games with. And Cleo learned that friendship is the greatest magic of all.

Every afternoon, you can still find them there — a boy and his sphinx, playing baseball under the golden sun.
