The Sphinx Who Learned to Play

In the middle of the Whispering Woods stood a very old sphinx named Stella. Unlike other sphinxes who loved riddles, Stella loved watching the sparkling water of Magic Pond. She had been guarding it for three hundred years, and sometimes it got quite lonely.

One sunny afternoon, something came flying through the air. *Whoosh!* It landed right beside Stella's paw. It was a padel racquet! A small boy named Leo came running through the trees.

"Sorry!" Leo called out. "I was practicing my swings and..." He stopped. His eyes grew wide. "You're a sphinx!"

Stella nodded gracefully. "And you must be a padel player."

Leo giggled. "I'm learning! My sister says I need more practice."

"I've never seen padel before," Stella admitted. "It looks wonderful."

Leo's face lit up. "I can teach you! It's the most fun game ever."

And so, an unlikely friendship began. Every day, Leo came to the pond. He taught Stella how to hold the racquet, how to serve, and how to hit the ball just right. The sphinx turned out to be amazing at padel! Her strong paws could send the ball flying across the water.

Other creatures came to watch—the rabbits, the birds, even the fish peeked their heads above water. Everyone cheered.

"You're my best friend," Leo told Stella one evening.

Stella's golden eyes shone. "And you, little Leo, are the best friend I've made in three hundred years."

The sphinx who once felt lonely now had something better than all the riddles in the world—a friend, a game she loved, and the joy of learning something new.

Sometimes, if you visit Magic Pond, you can still see them playing, sphinx and boy, padel racquet in hand, laughter floating across the water like magic.
