The Sphinx Who Forgot to Dream

In the dusty corner of her grandmother's attic, Maya found something peculiar: an old television cable with glowing copper inside. Most adults would call it junk, but Maya knew better. Her grandmother always said, "Magic hides where people stop looking."

When Maya plugged the cable into the mysterious socket in the attic wall, something extraordinary happened. The attic dissolved into golden light, and Maya found herself standing before a magnificent creature — a sphinx with emerald feathers and eyes that held the wisdom of a thousand years.

"Finally," the sphinx rumbled sadly. "I've waited centuries for someone to find the Connection Cable."

Maya's eyes went wide. "You're real! But why were you waiting for a cable?"

The sphinx bowed its majestic head. "In the human world, you have something called vitamins — little magic sparkles in your food that keep you strong and healthy. But in my kingdom, we need Dream Vitamins. Without them, magical creatures forget how to imagine, create, and hope."

"But what do Dream Vitamins look like?" Maya asked, fascinated.

"Children's laughter, questions, and stories," the sphinx explained. "The cable carries them from your world to ours. But children stopped believing in magic, stopped asking questions, stopped wondering. The Dream Vitamins stopped flowing, and now my kingdom is gray and silent."

Maya's heart swelled with determination. "I still believe! I still wonder!"

She grabbed the cable with both hands. "I'll send you all my questions! Why is the sky blue? How do flowers know when to bloom? Where do dreams go when we wake up?"

As each question poured through the cable, the sphinx's feathers began to shimmer. The gray kingdom burst into color — rivers of rainbow, trees that hummed melodies, creatures that danced on starlight.

"Thank you, Maya," the sphinx said, its eyes now sparkling like diamonds. "You've remembered the most important vitamin of all — Wonder. It's the spark that lights up every imagination."

The sphinx gave Maya a special gift: a tiny vial of Dream Vitamins to keep. "Whenever you feel stuck or bored, just remember: curiosity is the key to every adventure."

Maya woke up in her attic, the old cable still in her hand. But now she knew — magic was real, and she carried its vitamin in her heart: the courage to always ask, always wonder, always believe.
