The Sphinx Who Forgot How to Glow

In a garden where flowers sang lullabies at sunset, young Leo discovered something impossible behind the rosebush—a crystal sphinx the size of a cat, curled in a ball and sniffled quietly.

"What's wrong?" Leo asked, kneeling beside the tiny creature.

The sphinx looked up with eyes like rainbows. "I've forgotten how to glow," she whispered. "Without my glow, I can't answer riddles or guard secrets. I'm just a sparkly paperweight."

Suddenly, a massive shadow fell over them. A bull with fur the color of storm clouds lumbered closer, but instead of charging, he gently dropped something at the sphinx's paws—three glowing orange berries.

"Moonlight vitamins," the bull rumbled softly. "Found them in the cave behind the waterfall. My grandmother said they help you remember who you are."

The sphinx's eyes widened. She nibbled one berry, and instantly her crystal body began to shimmer. She ate another, and tiny stars twinkled along her wings. By the third berry, she glowed so brightly that Leo had to squint.

"I remember!" she cheered, dancing around the bull's hooves. "I'm the Guardian of Forgotten Dreams! And you..." She tapped her chin thoughtfully. "You must be Barnaby, the kindest bull in all the kingdom!"

Barnaby blushed, which looked like pink cotton candy on his storm-gray fur. "I was just passing through."

"Nothing is just passing through," the sphinx said wisely. "Everything happens for a reason. Today, I learned something important—even magical creatures need help sometimes." She turned to Leo. "And you, young dreamer, have a gift for finding those who need it."

Leo's heart felt warm and bubbly, like hot chocolate on a snow day. "Can we be friends?"

"Forever and always," the sphinx promised, and Barnaby nodded so enthusiastically that his horns bumped a tree, causing three more moonlight vitamins to rain down on them like edible confetti.

And so, in a garden where flowers sang lullabies, three unlikely friends learned that the strongest magic isn't glowing crystals or magical berries—it's kindness, friendship, and asking for help when you need it.
