The Sphinx's Swimming Lesson

Lily found the old iPhone in her grandmother's attic, hidden inside a dusty trunk filled with costumes and mysteries. When she pressed the home button, the screen glowed not with normal apps, but with swirling patterns of gold and blue.

Suddenly, a face appeared—a creature with lion's paws, eagle wings, and wise human eyes. "I am the Sphinx of Starlight," the creature rumbled gently. "For three thousand years, I have guarded the Galaxy Pool beyond dreams, but I have never dared to swim."

Lily's eyes widened. "You've never gone swimming?"

The Sphinx shook her magnificent head. "The Pool holds all the stars that have fallen from the sky. They sparkle like diamonds, shine like fireflies, and dance like golden fish. But I feared they would slip through my paws."

"I can teach you!" Lily offered, her heart racing with excitement. "Swimming is like floating on a cloud of glitter."

The iPhone's screen shimmered, and Lily felt herself being pulled—gently, like a leaf on a breeze—through the glowing glass. She tumbled into the most magical pool she could imagine. Stars swirled around her like glowing fish, comets trailed like ribbons, and moonlight made everything sparkle.

The Sphinx stood at the edge, her wings trembling.

"Just trust the water," Lily called, splashing playfully. "Stars are more gentle than they look."

Cautiously, the Sphinx stepped in. Her paws touched the star-filled water, and instead of sinking, she began to float—slowly, then joyfully. She swooped and spun, her powerful wings creating splashes of stardust that rained down like tiny galaxies.

"I'm doing it!" the Sphinx laughed, her voice chiming like temple bells. "I'm swimming in stars!"

They played for what seemed like hours, racing comets and diving through nebula clouds. When Lily finally climbed out, the Sphinx pressed something into her hand—a tiny star that glowed warm and bright.

"Friendship is the greatest magic," the Sphinx whispered. "Thank you for teaching me to trust the wonder within."

Lily woke up in the attic, the old iPhone dark beside her. But in her pocket burned a tiny star, proof that the most magical adventures begin with bravery and a friend who believes in you.
