The Sphinx's Starry Game

Lily loved staying up late, especially when the moon climbed high like a silver coin in the sky. One warm summer night, she heard a strange bumping sound coming from her backyard. Curious, she tiptoed outside in her polka-dot pajamas.

To her surprise, she found a zombie standing by her padel court! But this wasn't a scary zombie like in the movies. He was green and bumpy, yes, but he wore a friendly smile and held a padel racket upside down.

"I'm Zed," he said shyly. "I'm not a real zombie. A grumpy wizard turned me into one, but I still love playing games!"

Lily giggled. Zed looked funny hopping around, trying to hit a ball with his feet. "Want to play?" she asked.

Suddenly, the sky swirled with sparkles, and a magnificent sphinx floated down. She had the body of a lion, wings like a golden eagle, and wise eyes that twinkled like stars.

"I am Serena," the sphinx purred gently. "I've watched you both, and I have a proposition. My friend the Great Bull—" She pointed upward, where the constellation Taurus glowed—"is feeling lonely. He loves games but has no one to play with."

The stars above them shimmered and formed the shape of a huge, glowing bull that drifted down to earth. His fur was made of stardust, and his horns sparkled like diamonds.

"Can you teach us bull-ball?" the Bull asked in a voice like distant thunder. "It's like padel, but played in the clouds!"

That night, they played the most magical game ever. Zed learned that being different didn't mean he couldn't have fun. Serena the sphinx taught them that wisdom comes in all shapes and sizes. And the Bull learned that friendship makes even the loneliest constellation shine brighter.

When morning came, they all promised to meet again. Lily waved goodbye to her new friends—the friendly zombie, the wise sphinx, and the starry bull—and went inside, knowing that the best adventures happen when you open your heart to unexpected friends.

Moral: True friendship has nothing to do with how you look—only with how kind and fun you can be together!
