The Sphinx's Silly Hat
Lila and her best friend Marco lived where the jungle met the desert. Every afternoon, they'd sit under the palm trees sharing sweet papaya while dreaming of adventures.
One day, something magical happened. A tiny sphinx no bigger than a cat appeared from behind a cactus. But the strangest thing? The sphinx wore a bright purple hat with yellow stars.
"Greetings, young adventurers!" squeaked the sphinx. "I am Pippa, Guardian of the Riddles. But oh no — my magnificent hat keeps slipping over my eyes!"
Lila giggled. "Maybe your hair needs a trim?"
Pippa shook her head. "Sphinxes don't have hair! That's the problem. My hat won't stay put without fur to grab onto."
Marco's eyes lit up. "I have an idea!"
He ran to his house and returned with his grandmother's special scarf — soft and stretchy, made from the finest jungle cotton.
"This will work perfectly!" said Lila. Together, they carefully tied the scarf around Pippa's head first, then placed the purple hat on top. It stayed!
"Now I can see properly again!" cheered Pippa. "For your kindness, I shall share my greatest treasure — the secret of the Dancing Stars!"
That night, Pippa taught them something wonderful: when true friends help each other, even the stars seem to dance with joy. And from that day on, whenever Lila and Marco ate papaya together, they remembered the little sphinx with the silly purple hat, and how helping a friend is the greatest adventure of all.
