The Sphinx's Secret Wish

In the golden desert of Egypt, young Leo loved exploring. Every day after school, he would imagine grand adventures among the ancient dunes. But one hot afternoon, something magical happened.

Leo was walking near the Great Pyramid when he heard a soft sigh. He looked around but saw only sand and stone. Then he heard it again—a gentle, lonely sound coming from behind a weathered rock.

Peeking carefully like a spy, Leo spotted something incredible. A small stone sphinx sat there, no bigger than a cat, with tiny wings tucked at its sides. The sphinx looked sad.

"Hello," Leo whispered. "Why are you crying?"

The little sphinx looked up with surprise. "I am the last of my kind. My brothers and sisters flew away thousands of years ago. But I cannot fly because I'm afraid of heights."

Leo thought for a moment. "Maybe I can help! What do you need?"

"I need water from the Moon Oasis," the sphinx explained. "It gives courage to those who drink it. But the oasis is deep inside the pyramid, and I'm too scared to go alone."

Leo smiled and held out his hand. "I'll go with you. We'll be a team."

Together they entered the pyramid. The air was cool and smelled of ancient secrets. Strange symbols glowed on the walls as they passed. Deeper and deeper they went until they found a beautiful blue pool—the Moon Oasis.

The water sparkled like liquid starlight. The sphinx drank deeply, and suddenly her tiny wings began to glow. She looked at Leo with grateful eyes.

"You are my true friend," she said. "Will you come with me to see where my family lives?"

Leo climbed onto her back, and they soared into the sky! Below them, the desert looked like a golden quilt. They flew higher and higher until they reached a hidden valley filled with hundreds of sphinxes, all dancing in the moonlight.

That night, Leo learned that courage doesn't mean you're never afraid—it means facing your fears with a friend by your side. And sometimes, the best adventures are the ones you share.
