The Sphinx's Secret Treasure

Leo discovered the miniature pyramid hidden in his grandmother's dusty attic. It glowed with golden light, no bigger than a lunchbox, covered in mysterious symbols that seemed to dance when he squinted at them.

"Touch the sphinx," whispered a voice like rustling leaves.

Leo jumped! A tiny sphinx, no larger than his thumb, perched atop the pyramid. She had emerald eyes and wings like a hummingbird.

"I'm Cleo," she said. "Guardian of the Vitamin Pyramid."

"Vitamin Pyramid?" Leo giggled. "Is this where vitamins come from?"

Cleo's wings shimmered. "Not the kind you swallow with breakfast. These are heart vitamins." She tapped the pyramid's side, and it swung open like a treasure chest.

Inside sat dozens of glowing gems in rainbow colors. Each pulsed like a tiny heartbeat.

"The red one is courage," Cleo explained. "The blue one is kindness. Yellow for curiosity, purple for patience..."

Leo reached for the sparkling green gem. "What's this one?"

"Friendship vitamin," Cleo smiled. "The rarest of all. It only appears when someone shares without expecting anything back."

Leo thought about the new girl at school, Amira, who ate lunch alone every day. Yesterday, he'd given her his favorite superhero eraser. Her smile had been like sunshine.

The green gem pulsed brighter!

"See?" Cleo said. "You already have friendship vitamins growing inside you. The pyramid just shows you what's there."

Leo realized something wonderful. "I don't need to take them?"

"No, silly boy!" Cleo laughed, spinning in a circle. "You make them grow by being brave and kind and curious every day. The pyramid is just a mirror."

She folded her wings and added, "The real treasure isn't having all the vitamins. It's sharing them. When you help someone else find their courage vitamin, yours grows too."

Leo raced downstairs to find Amira's phone number. Tomorrow, they'd sit together at lunch. And maybe, just maybe, they'd discover other heart vitamins together.

In the attic, the tiny sphinx curled up on her pyramid, smiling as Leo's courage vitamin sparkled all the way down the stairs.
