Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, but she had never noticed the old stone gate behind the papaya tree until one hot summer afternoon. The gate sparkled with an orange glow, and something magical pulled her closer.

Nodding eagerly, Lily spent the afternoon swimming through water that felt like soft clouds. She discovered an underwater kingdom where fish played hide-and-seek among coral castles and tiny seahorses danced through seaweed forests.

When she emerged, the sphinx offered her two glowing fruits—one orange as a sunset, one papaya as bright as morning light.

"These will help you remember our special day," the sphinx said. "But here's my question: will you eat them both yourself, or share them with someone who needs magic too?"

Lily thought of her friend Thomas, who was lonely because his family had just moved to town. "I'll share them," she said. "Magic is better when it's not kept secret."
