The Sphinx's Secret Pool

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house, where the backyard held a magical surprise. Behind the old papaya tree, hidden by leaves, was a crystal-clear pool that shimmered even on cloudy days.

One afternoon, while eating sweet papaya slices, Lily heard a strange sound. *Whoosh!* A golden sphinx appeared beside the pool. Its wings sparkled like sunshine, and its kind eyes twinkled.

"I am Cleo," the sphinx said softly. "Guardian of the Magic Pool, where dreams come alive."

Lily's phone — her mom's old iPhone she used for games — suddenly buzzed. But when she looked at the screen, instead of apps, she saw ripples of rainbow light flowing toward the pool.

"Your phone has absorbed the pool's magic," Cleo explained. "Now, you must help me." The sphinx pointed to a padel racket leaning against the papaya tree. "That's no ordinary racket. It's the Dream Racket. Hit the magic bubbles rising from the pool, or children's dreams will fade away."

Lily's heart raced. She grabbed the racket and positioned herself by the water. Golden bubbles floated up, each containing a tiny dream — a puppy, a bicycle, a rainbow.

*Swish! Swish!* Lily hit each bubble gently. Instead of popping, they floated higher, glowing brighter.

"Wonderful!" Cleo cheered. "You're saving dreams!"

But then a dark shadow crept toward the pool. It was the Doubt Monster, a cloudy creature that wanted to swallow all the dreams.

Lily gripped the racket tight. "You won't win!" she called out. With every swing, she imagined something she loved — her grandmother's hugs, her dog's wet nose, the taste of papaya.

The Doubt Monster shrank with each loving thought. *POOF!* It disappeared.

Cleo purred with happiness. "Your imagination and love are stronger than doubt. That's the real magic."

The sphinx touched Lily's iPhone with her wing. "Now you can always see the magic in everyday things."

That night, Lily fell asleep dreaming of golden sphinxes, papaya-scented breezes, and the magic that lives inside everyone who believes.

She learned that the greatest adventures aren't on screens — they're in your heart, waiting to be discovered by those who dare to imagine.
