The Sphinx's Secret Pool
Lily loved the old library behind her house. Every Saturday, she'd climb the creaky stairs to the dusty attic where ancient books slept on wooden shelves. One rainy afternoon, she found something magical—a glowing book that wasn't there before.
Inside was a picture of a beautiful sphinx with emerald eyes and golden wings. The page whispered: "Only the勇敢heart may find the Secret Pool."
Suddenly, Lily's room filled with sparkling light. When she opened her eyes, she stood in a meadow she'd never seen before. Flowers sang soft melodies, and trees whispered secrets to each other.
"You came!" said a gentle voice.
Lily looked up. The sphinx from the book stood before her, but she wasn't scary at all. She had kind eyes and a warm smile.
"I'm Cleo," the sphinx said. "And I need your help. My friend Buster—a constellation bull who fell from the sky—can't return home until he believes in himself."
In the center of a crystal-clear pool, a sad bull made of twinkling stars sat alone.
"He stopped running after he fell," Cleo explained. "He thinks he's too clumsy to be a constellation anymore."
Lily knelt by the pool's edge. "Hey Buster," she called softly. "I'm not good at running either. I'm always last in gym class."
The starry bull looked up. His silver eyes shimmered like moonlight.
"But you know what?" Lily continued. "My teacher says being fast isn't what matters. What matters is not giving up."
Buster's nose twitched. He stood up slowly.
"Want to race?" Lily asked. "Just for fun?"
The bull took one step, then another. Soon, he was running around the pool with starlight trailing behind him like magical dust. Cleo and Lily cheered as Buster discovered his joy again.
As sunset painted the sky purple and gold, Buster soared upward, leaving a path of sparkles. He became the brightest constellation in the night sky, winking down at his new friends.
"Thank you," Cleo whispered, pressing a warm crystal into Lily's hand. "For reminding us that true courage isn't about being perfect—it's about trying, even when you're afraid."
Lily woke up in her room, the crystal still glowing in her palm. Outside her window, the constellation bull twinkled brightly, reminding her that everyone—even those who stumble—can shine among the stars.
