The Sphinx's Secret Garden

Lily was running through the golden grass when she first saw the sphinx. The great creature lay upon a stone pedestal, her lion body gleaming in sunlight and her wise owl eyes watching Lily approach.

"Hello, little one," the sphinx spoke, her voice like wind chimes. "I've been waiting for a friend."

Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk?"

The sphinx smiled mysteriously. "In my garden, magic lives. But something terrible has happened. My dear friend, a brave little bull named Barnaby, has been cursed by a mischievous wizard. Now he shuffles around like a zombie—all confused and sleepy. He can't remember who he is!"

"How can I help?" Lily asked, her heart pounding with adventure.

"You must solve three riddles," the sphinx said. "Only then will Barnaby awaken."

Lily nodded bravely. The sphinx's first riddle echoed across the garden: "I have cities but no houses, mountains but no trees, water but no fish. What am I?"

Lily thought hard, then gasped. "A map!"

"Correct!" The sphinx purred. "Second riddle: What can fill a room but takes up no space?"

"Light!" Lily cried out.

"One last riddle," the sphinx whispered. "What has to be broken before you can use it?"

Lily smiled. "An egg!"

Suddenly, the zombie bull blinked his eyes and shook his head. The curse lifted! Barnaby the bull charged toward Lily, but instead of scary horns, she found his head covered in colorful flowers.

"Thank you, friend!" Barnaby cheered, and he gave Lily the gentlest nuzzle. The sphinx invited Lily to visit anytime, and from that day on, she never stopped running back to her magical friends who taught her that kindness and cleverness can break any curse.
