The Sphinx's Secret Garden
Milo was a small orange cat with the biggest paws in the village. Every day, he would pad softly through the marketplace, looking for adventure. His favorite spot was near the old stone sphinx that sat at the edge of the desert.
One hot afternoon, Milo noticed something strange. The sphinx's stone eye seemed to wink at him! Being a curious cat, Milo crept closer. As he stepped near the ancient statue, a tiny door opened in the sphinx's paw.
"Hello, little friend," a riddle echoed from deep within the stone. "I have guarded this secret for one thousand years. Are you brave enough to enter?"
Milo's heart pounded, but he nodded. Inside the sphinx was a magical garden filled with sparkling water fountains and towering palm trees that grew crystals instead of coconuts. In the center sat a tiny, sad sphinx cub.
"My brother is trapped in a nightmare," the cub explained. "He needs the green leaf of courage to wake up."
Milo knew exactly where to find such a leaf. His best friend, old Mrs. Green, grew magical vegetables in her garden. The bravest plant was her emerald spinach!
Racing back through the desert, Milo returned with a bundle of crisp green spinach. The sphinx cub sprinkled the spinach leaves over the sleeping brother. Suddenly, the dream broke!
"Thank you, Milo!" both sphinxes cheered together. "For your kindness and bravery, you may visit our garden whenever you wish."
From that day on, Milo became known as the Guardian of the Sphinx's Garden. He learned that true courage isn't about being big or strong—it's about having a brave heart and helping friends in need.
And every evening, if you look closely at the old sphinx at sunset, you might just see a small orange cat resting peacefully in its stone palm, dreaming of tomorrow's adventures.
