The Sphinx's Secret Garden

Lily loved exploring the woods behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she followed a butterfly past the old oak tree and found something she'd never seen before—a crystal-clear **pool** hidden among the trees.

But that wasn't the most amazing part. Sitting beside the **water**, watching ripples dance across the surface, was a creature Lily had only seen in books: a golden **sphinx** with sparkling blue eyes.

"You've found my secret garden," the sphinx said gently. Her voice sounded like wind chimes. "I've been waiting for someone kind to share it with."

Lily's eyes widened. "Really?"

The sphinx nodded and swept her paw toward a small garden nearby. "Look what grows here."

Lily gasped. The most beautiful **orange** tree she'd ever seen stood covered in bright, glowing fruit. Beside it grew rows of emerald-green **spinach** that shimmered like little stars.

"The oranges make wishes come true," the sphinx explained, "and the spinach gives anyone who eats it the courage to try new things."

Lily's stomach grumbled. She hadn't eaten lunch yet.

The sphinx smiled. "Please, have some."

Lily picked an orange and a few spinach leaves. They were delicious—sweet and crisp, with magic that made her tingle all over.

"Thank you!" Lily said. "But shouldn't you share this with everyone?"

The sphinx looked sad. "I was afraid people would take everything."

Lily thought for a moment. "What if we make it a sharing garden? Everyone who comes could plant something new."

The sphinx's eyes lit up. "What a wonderful idea!"

And so they did. Children from all over came to visit, each planting something special. The garden grew bigger and more beautiful than ever.

Lily visited every day, and the sphinx became her best friend. They learned that magic isn't about keeping secrets—it's about sharing joy with others.

And whenever Lily ate from that garden, she remembered: the best adventures are the ones we share.
