The Sphinx's Secret Garden

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially the old **pool** that had turned into a magical pond. One sunny afternoon, she noticed something strange near the palm trees. A tiny **sphinx** no bigger than a kitten sat perched on a rock, its wings shimmering like soap bubbles.

"Hello there," Lily whispered, kneeling in the soft grass. The sphinx yawned, stretching its paws. Its golden fur sparkled in the sunlight.

"I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find me," the sphinx squeaked. "Will you help me?"

Lily nodded eagerly. She'd always dreamed of having a magical adventure.

The sphinx led her behind the old tool shed, where a sleepy **zombie** gardener named Zed was planting flowers. But Zed wasn't scary at all—he was just slow and thoughtful, with flowers braided into his messy green **hair**.

"Zed used to be the best gardener in the world," the sphinx explained. "But a grumpy wizard cast a sleeping spell on him. Only true friendship can wake him up."

Lily didn't run away. Instead, she took Zed's hand and held it tight. "I'll be your friend," she promised. "Together, we can make this garden beautiful again."

The sphinx landed gently on Zed's shoulder, and Lily began to sing a silly song about dancing daisies and jumping sunflowers. Zed's eyes fluttered open. A smile spread across his face as the magic of friendship broke the spell.

"Thank you," Zed said, his voice warm and kind. He handed Lily a perfect pink rose. "True friends see with their hearts, not just their eyes."

From that day on, Lily visited the magical garden every afternoon. She learned that bravery isn't about not being scared—it's about choosing kindness even when things seem strange. And sometimes, the most unusual creatures make the best friends.
