The Sphinx's Secret Game
Lily and Max lived right next to the sparkling blue beach. Every morning, they'd grab their padel rackets and rush to the special court near the dunes. But today, something magical happened.
While they were playing, a gentle rumble shook the sand. From behind the dunes emerged a magnificent sphinx with golden fur and wings that shimmered like sunrise. Lily's eyes went wide.
"I am Cleo," the sphinx said kindly. "I guard the secret lagoon where the water holds ancient magic. Today, I need brave friends to help me."
"What kind of help?" Max asked, clutching his padel racket.
Cleo led them to a hidden cove where the water glowed with rainbow colors. "Every hundred years, the sand zombies wake up to play their favorite game. They're not scary zombies—just lonely sand creatures who want someone to play with!"
Sure enough, little figures made of wet sand were wobbling toward them. They had tiny pebble eyes and seaweed smiles.
"They love swimming contests," Cleo explained. "But they're afraid of the deep water. Will you race with them?"
Lily and Max jumped right in, swimming beside the giggling sand creatures. The zombies melted and reformed as they splashed, having the time of their lives.
After the race, Cleo taught everyone a special game—padel in the shallow water! The sand zombies were amazing at it, using their sandy paws to hit the ball.
As the sun set, the sand zombies gave Lily and Max each a perfect shell as a thank-you gift. Cleo smiled proudly.
"True friends aren't afraid of what's different," the sphinx said wisely. "They just jump in and play."
That night, Lily and Max fell asleep dreaming of golden wings, splashing sand friends, and the most magical game of padel ever played.
