The Sphinx's Secret Game
Lily loved to spy on magical creatures from behind her garden fence. Every afternoon, she peeked through the roses, watching fairies dance and rabbits talk. But today, she saw something extraordinary—a golden sphinx resting by the stream!
The sphinx had the body of a lion and the head of a wise owl. His emerald eyes sparkled like stars. Lily stepped closer, her heart thumping with excitement.
'Hello, little one,' the sphinx rumbled gently. 'I am Solara, guardian of the Magic Waters. Would you like to play padel with me?'
Lily gasped! Padel was her favorite game. Solara handed her a magical paddle made of moonlight. They hit a glowing ball back and forth across the sparkling stream. Splash! The ball skipped across the water, leaving trails of rainbow colors.
Suddenly, Solara stopped. 'Before you go, you must solve my riddle: What is green as emerald, makes you strong as a giant, and grows from the earth's embrace?'
Lily thought hard. She looked around the garden and saw leafy plants growing near the water. 'Spinach!' she cried. 'Spinach makes you strong like Popeye says!'
The sphinx smiled, his whiskers twitching. 'Correct! But spinach also gives you something more important than strength—it gives you kindness to share with friends.' He plucked a leaf from the magical spinach patch. 'Eat this, and you'll always remember that true power comes from helping others.'
Lily took a bite. It tasted like sunshine and dreams! She felt warm inside, not with muscles, but with happiness. 'Thank you, Solara!'
'Come back tomorrow,' whispered the sphinx. 'We have many more games to play—and many more secrets to share.'
Lily ran home, her heart full of magic. She couldn't wait to spy on the garden again tomorrow, knowing that the best adventures are the ones we share with friends.
