The Sphinx's Secret Game

Lily discovered something strange in her grandmother's attic. Behind old boxes and dusty paintings, a small door glowed with golden light. Being curious (and a bit of a **spy** when it came to household mysteries), she crawled through.

What she found made her gasp. A miniature **sphinx** sat on a crystal pedestal, no bigger than a kitten. Its fur shimmered like sunset, and instead of a riddle, it spoke in a chime-like voice.

"I've been waiting for you, Lily! Want to play **baseball**?" The sphinx's tiny wings fluttered excitedly.

"But... you're a sphinx! Don't you ask riddles?" Lily asked, amazed.

"Boring! I love games!" The sphinx tapped its paw, and suddenly the attic transformed into a magical field with emerald grass and a sky painted with swirls of purple and pink.

Lily's pocket buzzed. Her **iPhone** – which she'd brought for flashlight duty – floated upward and projected holographic baseball players who cheered!

"Your grandma was my best friend," the sphinx explained as it tossed a glowing ball. "We played every full moon. But she grew too busy. Will you play with me?"

Lily felt the weight of loneliness in the sphinx's golden eyes. "Always!"

They played until stars appeared. The sphinx gave Lily a small packet before she left. "For your grandma. Tell her I miss our games."

Downstairs, Grandma's eyes teared up when Lily handed her the packet. **Vitamin** C tablets – but these sparkled with magic dust.

"The friendship vitamin," Grandma whispered. "One pinch keeps your heart young forever."

Lily learned that day that magic isn't just about sphinxes and glowing fields. It's about friendship, making time for those you love, and never being too busy for a game. And sometimes, the best adventures are hiding right in your own attic.
