The Sphinx's Secret Game
Leo and Mia loved **running** through the golden meadow behind their house every afternoon. The grass tickled their ankles as the sun painted the sky in shades of orange and pink.
One day, they discovered something they'd never noticed before—a shimmering pool of **water** hidden behind a curtain of weeping willows. The water sparkled like diamonds, and at its edge sat an enormous stone creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human.
"A **sphinx**!" Mia gasped, clutching Leo's hand.
The sphinx's stone eyes suddenly twinkled. "Greetings, young adventurers. I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find my secret court."
"Secret court?" Leo asked.
The sphinx nodded toward a clearing where a strange figure stood—a greenish creature with messy hair and crooked teeth who looked a bit like a **zombie**, but was wearing bright sporty clothes and holding a racket.
"This is Zed," the sphinx said. "He may look a little unusual, but he's the best **padel** player in all the magical realms. Care to challenge him?"
Zed waved shyly. "I promise I don't bite. I just love the game!"
Mia and Leo looked at each other and grinned. They'd never played padel before, but how often do you get to play a magical game with a sphinx and a zombie?
The game was magical! The ball glowed as it flew over the net, and every time Zed hit a winner, butterflies would burst from his racket instead of sweat. The sphinx clapped with her giant stone paws, and the water cheered by making little splashing sounds.
When the sun finally set, Zed high-fived them with a grin. "You two are natural! Come back anytime."
Leo and Mia walked home hand in hand, their hearts full of wonder. They'd learned something important that day—sometimes the most extraordinary adventures come from the most unexpected places, and you should never judge someone by how they look. A zombie could be a champion athlete, and a sphinx could be the best referee ever.
And tomorrow, they would definitely be back for another game.
