The Sphinx's Secret Friends

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she followed a sparkling blue butterfly deeper than she'd ever gone before. The butterfly led her to a hidden clearing she'd never seen.

In the middle stood a tiny sphinx, no bigger than a teddy bear. His wings shimmered like rainbows, and his eyes were kind and gentle. But his wings drooped sadly.

"Hello," said Lily softly. "What's wrong?"

"The magic water has stopped flowing," the sphinx sighed. "Without it, my wings can't fly." He pointed to a dry streambed nearby.

Lily wanted to help. She ran to her favorite spots in the forest and soon returned with her friends. Bruno, a big fluffy bear who loved honey, and Barnaby, a brave young bull with a golden ring in his nose.

"What can we do?" Bruno asked, scratching his head.

The sphinx spoke in a riddle: "The water flows when three friends work as one. Bear's strength, bull's courage, and human's cleverness must unite."

Lily thought fast. "Bruno, can you push aside those big rocks blocking the stream's source? Barnaby, can you clear the path with your strong horns? I'll follow the water underground to find where it's stuck!"

Working together, they found the problem: a huge boulder had fallen during the night, trapping the water underground. Bruno pushed with all his might. Barnaby butted the rock with his golden-ring nose. Lily dug away the dirt around it.

*CRACK!* The boulder moved. Crystal water gushed forth, sparkling like diamonds in the sunlight.

The sphinx's wings lifted. He flew up, leaving trails of sparkles. "Thank you, friends! You proved that friendship and teamwork are the strongest magic of all."

From that day on, Lily, Bruno, and Barnaby visited their sphinx friend often. And whenever they worked together, amazing things happened.

Lily learned that the best magic isn't in spells or potions — it's in true friendship and helping others.
